Smog v ovzduší ČR: An App for Monitoring Air Pollution

Smog v ovzduší ČR is a lifestyle app that provides real-time information about air pollution levels in the Czech Republic. The app collects data from automated measuring stations operated by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ). Air quality is rated on a scale of 1 to 6 in compliance with legislation. The air quality index, which takes into account the possible impact of pollutants on public health, is based on the evaluation of 1-hour concentrations of sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), suspended particles (PM10), 8-hour sliding concentrations of carbon monoxide (CO), and 1-hour concentrations of ground-level ozone (O3) during the summer season (April 1 to September 30).

Users can access a map of all monitoring stations, view the concentration of all measured pollutants, and track the progression of values over the last 24 hours through graphs. The app also has a 1x1 widget that displays the air quality index of the nearest or selected monitoring station.
